Our kids have always loved their Uncle Mike. He’s been the one to zoom them around as toddlers, give piggy backs and play sports when older, and has always given them amazing gifts for b-days and Christmas.
They love the fact that they get to spend almost TWO weeks with him while he visits us here in Salt Lake City. They are hoping for several mountain-top memories together, snowboarding down the white peaks, but they are also content to make cookies, play Boggle, and drink his diet Mountain Dew!
So far, this Thanksgiving weekend together has been nice and relaxing. We arrived in SLC just Wednesday night, so we kept things nice and simple for a Thanksgiving meal. Afterwards, we drove around the city, found a couple Geocaches, raced each other at the park (well, I took pictures!), and then watched a movie back at home.

It’s always fun for me to watch Don and Mike as brothers, and I think it’s neat for all of us to draw comparisons to what we see in our two boys. There’s something pretty special about brothers. I’m glad I get to see it first hand as I watch our boys grow. They are friends…but they have their moments, too. 😉
We signed them up last-minute for an indoor soccer team, and so tomorrow morning, bright and early, we’ll get to watch them battle together as teammates. That’s what I think is the cool part about family. We’re all on the same team.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends as well! So much to be grateful for. The good, the hard, the surprises, the messy, the love – it’s all grace.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and the fam! And than you for another dose of inspiration! 🙂
